Aldo Milohnić, PhD, is Associate Professor of the History of Theatre at the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television. He has edited numerous anthologies and special issues of performing arts journals (Theatre of Resistance, The Politicality of Performance; Pupilcheks Arrived – 40 Years of the Pupilija Ferkeverk Theatre; At the Crossroads of Cultural Politics; Artivism; Brecht/Gestus; How to Do Things with Words in Theatre; Women in Theatre; Along the Margins of the Humanities, etc.) and co-author of several books (Culture Ltd.– Material Conditions of Cultural Production; It’s Time for Brecht, among others). He is author of two books (Theories of Contemporary Theatre and Performance and Art in Times of the Rule of Law and Capital) and numerous articles in academic journals. During the last twenty years he has been involved in many research projects on the history and theory of performing arts and the sociology of culture.

He is a member of the Association of Theatre Critics and Researchers of Slovenia and the International Federation for Theatre Research (IFTR). He is a member of the editorial boards of performing arts journals Maska and Amfiteater, a member of the international advisory boards of performing arts journals Frakcija and TkH, and a board member of the Slovenian Theatre Institute.
