Isabelle Barbéris is a former student from the Ecole Normale Supérieure (Fontenay Saint-Cloud), holds an agrégation in Literature and is graduated in Political science (Paris Dauphine university). She’s associate professor in performance studies in Paris Diderot university (Sorbonne Paris Cités) and associated researcher with the CNRS (UMR ACTE).

Her PHD deals with the work of the argentinian author and performer Copi. Member of the revue Cités (Presses universitaires de France), she wrote article and books about the contemporary stage crossing aesthetic, economic and politic aspects (for instance: Théâtres contemporains. Mythes et idéologies, PUF, 2010 ; L’Économie du spectacle vivant, PUF, 2013, with Martial Poirson; L’archive dans les arts vivants. Performance, danse, théâtre, collectif, PUR, 2015 ; Après l’anthropo(s)cène. She is expert for the french Ministry of Culture (DRAC Ile-de-France). She worked as dramaturgical consultant for Philippe Adrien, Yves-Noël Genod, Les Chiens de Navarre, Philippe Calvario, Emmanuelle Raynaut, Aurelia Ivan…
